Welcome to Eagle, NY

Overview

The town of Eagle is on the southern edge of Wyoming County, bordered to the north by Wethersfield, to the east by Pike, to the south by Allegany County, and to the west by Arcade. The town includes the hamlets of Bliss, Eagle and Eagle Center. Due to a prevailing wind, Eagle is home to the Noble Bliss Windpark, which opened in 2008 and created hundreds of jobs during construction and several long-term jobs for its operation. Dairy farming is big business here. With roughly 1,100 residents, Eagle supposedly has more cows than people.

Essentials

For groceries, residents head to neighboring Arcade, which has a Top’s Friendly Markets supermarket. For retail shopping, there’s a Walmart in Warsaw, which is about 20 miles northeast of Eagle, and another Walmart is in Springville, which is 21 miles west.

Pros & Cons

Eagle is a small, sparsely populated town where outdoor activities are the main attractions. The wind farm offers “clean” energy and is one of the area’s employers. Proximity to Allegany County might also be an attraction.
