Overview

The town of Pike is on the south border of Wyoming County. The town is bordered to the north by Gainesville, to the east by Genesee Falls, to the south by Allegany County and to the west by Eagle. Pike is a sparsely populated town of just over 1,100 residents and includes the hamlets of East Koy, Lamont and Pike. The Wyoming County Fairgrounds are in the hamlet of Pike, which was a village until 2009.


Essentials

Residents here typically shop in Warsaw, about 14 miles north. There, you’ll find grocery stores including Top’s Friendly Markets, Save-a-Lot and Lantz’s Bulk Foods. For retail shopping, Warsaw has a Walmart store. The Letchworth Central School District serves residents of Pike. The regional hospital is Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. The Pike Library is at 65 Main St.



Recreation & Entertainment

This is a rural area where fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities are the main entertainment options. Rolling Acres Campground & Golf Course is at 7795 DeWitt Road in Pike, and two other golf courses are in Warsaw. The Wyoming County Fair is held annually in Pike at the county fairgrounds. Letchworth State Park, the biggest attraction in the county and region, is a short drive east.

Route 19, heading north-south, and Route 39, going east-west, cross in the town of Pike.



Pros & Cons

If you like remote, wide-open spaces where outdoor activities are the main things to do, Pike will suit you fine. If you like busier places with more entertainment options, you might want to look elsewhere.
