Overview

Warsaw is a town in north-central Wyoming County, bordered to the north by Middlebury, to the east by Perry and Castile, to the south by Gainesville and to the west by Orangeville. The town of Warsaw includes the village of Warsaw, which is the county seat, along with the hamlets of Rock Glen, Newburg, Oatka, South Warsaw and Thompsons Crossing.


Essentials

Warsaw has one of Wyoming County’s bigger shopping districts. For groceries, there’s a Top’s Friendly Markets store on Route 19, a Save-a-Lot store in North Main Street, and Lantz’s Bulk Foods on State Route 20A-E. For retail, Warsaw has a Walmart store at 2348 Route 19. The Warsaw Central School District, with two schools, serves residents who live here. A branch of Genesee Community College is in Warsaw. The Warsaw Public Library is at 130 N. Main St. Wyoming County Community Hospital, which serves the region, is in Warsaw.



Recreation & Entertainment

The Stage is a not-for-profit live and film performance venue on Main Street that features new-release movies, live music, dance and theater. Two golf courses, Arrowwood and Hidden Acres, are in Warsaw. Camping is available at the Warsaw/Dream Lake KOA, which has 100 campsites. Hunting and fishing are popular here and throughout the region. Letchworth State Park is a short drive southeast, and Darien Lake, with its enormous amusement park, performing arts center and camping, is about a half hour drive northwest.



Transportation & Traffic

Route 20A runs east-west through Warsaw. Route 19 is the main north-south road running though Warsaw.



Pros & Cons

An historic village with many attractions makes Warsaw great for history lovers and those who admire unique architecture. Warsaw is the county seat, which is great when you need to do governmental business. The town’s central location makes it easy to get to and from.
