Overview Poland is a town in southeastern Chautauqua County, on the eastern edge of the county and bordered to the north by Ellington, to the east by Cattaraugus County (town of Randolph), to the south by Carroll and to the west by Ellicott. Poland has no villages, but has four hamlets, including Kennedy, the primary settlement in the town. Poland is just minutes from the city of Jamestown, the largest municipality in Chautauqua County. The economy in this rural community used to be based on forestry, but has been focused on farming for years. Local Museums & Landmarks Poland has no museums or landmarks of note, but nearby Jamestown has plenty. Jamestown is known as the hometown of comedy legend Lucille Ball, and the city has a museum dedicated to her and her once-husband, Desi Arnaz. Jamestown also has the Lucille M. Wright Air Museum (which includes a planetarium), the Fenton History Center, the Robert H. Jackson Center, and the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.

Jamestown, just eight miles southwest of Poland, has lots of grocery options, including a Wegmans supermarket, two Tops Friendly Markets stores and smaller stores like Save-a-Lot and Schwan Food Co. Tops Friendly Markets also has a store in Randolph, Cattaraugus County, about 10 miles east of Poland.
